My favourite kind of pizza is crispy base with beef topping. The crust is always chewy and crunchy, and the sauce and beef go really well together. I used to get this from a little pizzeria in an alley near where I worked when I was a student.

It was a little hole in the wall kind of place but their pizza was just amazing. If you haven’t tried this kind of pizza before, you should really give it a shot. I’ve included the recipe below so that you can enjoy it, too!

This recipe is ideal for family pizza nights, as it really is very simple to make. It combines crispy dough with a tasty beef topping.
Just remember that if you're dining with fussy children they might not like the crispy base, so you can always make traditional pizzas for them!

Ingredients
  

FOR PIZZA :

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dried yeast
  • 2 cups warm water about 100-110F
  • Anything over 230F it kills the yeast
  • 470 g all-purpose flour (not to use bread flour+ 2tbs for shaping)
  • 6 tbs olive oil plus more for greasing
  • 2 tbs To brush Extra Virgin Olive oil for flavour, and soft interior
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbs Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Cornmeal flour on the bottom gives extra flavor & crisp

FOR TOPING

  • 1/2 white Onion (chopped very finely)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced finely)
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 can whole tomato
  • 1 tbs Tomato sauce
  • Salt & black pepper crushed
  • Small white onion chopped, fry in1 tbs oil
  • 5 Fresh Basil chopped roughly
  • Celery stalks chopped
  • Pieces Ham sliced thickly and cut into big
  • Jalapeno pickled sliced thickly
  • Stewed Beef Sausages sliced
  • Mozzarella cheese, sliced biscuits thickness
  • handful grated cheddar cheese
  • Svatter a few Olives & Feta cheese cubed
  • Rice Bran Oil for stir-fry

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 200C hot. In a large bowl combine flour, cornmeal, yeast and salt. Stir in water until its well combined. Mix the dough ingredients together by hand.
  • Place the dough into a greased mixing bowl, cover tightly with plastic, and set aside to rise for about 90′-3 hrs minutes at room temp. The dough become puffy and dotted with bubbles.
  • Punch down risen dough to release air bubbles.Transfer it to a well-floured surface &sprinkle with a little flour, using a scraper fold dough over 10-12 times and shape into a rough ball.
  • Divide the dough in half&you can freeze one of the ball of dough to make pizza at latter time (lightly coat all sides of the dough ball with olive oil, place the dough in a plastic snaplock seal tightly on top bag squeezing out the air.This freeze for up to 3 months).
  • Place in a baking paper-lined bowl&cover for 35′.Roll dough out into a 12-inch circle,with your knuckles 1/2″ inside border.Brush the border with olive oil.Top with your favourite pizza toppings.
  • Firstly I add my Homemade Pizza sauce,then a few sliced Mozzarella in between with grated Cheddar Cheese,pre-cooked red onion sliced rings,then the cooked beef sausage,Ham &celery in between I put the sliced Jalapeno,some feta cheese & some olives,sprinkle w/ grated Cheese.Drizzle on top with Olive Oil.
  • Bake pizza at 200 Celcius for 15 minutes in middle rack oven. Cut the Pizza with a roller cutter into 8 portions. To serve: Pizza with a glass of Beer. Yummy

Notes

Pizzas taste better if you make the dough yourself. At least, that’s the conventional wisdom.
People have been making pizza dough by hand for millennia, but commercial doughs are readily available.
They’re convenient, and if you go out of your way to make the dough yourself, you can tell your friends you made it yourself.
